Are there any cases out there that are small like a SUGO SG05 that can fit 4x 3.5 HDDs? Haven't been able to find one but I've been out of the case game for awhile now.

I use a Lian Li Q-25 for my FreeNAS box and have been very happy with it.

It has 7x (5x hot swap) 3.5" drive mountings and a 1x 2.5" drive mounting.

It is definitely larger than the SG05 though. The only other ITX case I know of with support for 4+ 3.5" drives is the Fractal R2, which is slightly smaller, but it has a lower build quality and is definitely prone to vibration.

Your only other option, I believe, is to modify a case. You could also opt for a 1U or 2U rackmount, but that is a different kind of small.

What about a Fractal Define Mini? It's mATX, 6 3.5" bays and all noise dampened.

Edit, this Lian Li PC-Q08 may work as well;

Thanks for all the great options! I love the Fractal design, just a bit wary of the 300w PSU (not tested brand etc)

The R2 uses an FSP unit for its power supply. FSP is an OEM that has done work for many brand names.

I wouldn't badge FSP as one of the premier power supply manufacturers, but they are a big company that has been around for a long time. Some of their stuff can be a mixed bag in terms of performance, but I haven't heard of any real horror stories from them.

So, their products may not be the best performing out there, but they are generally safe bets.

FSP is also big on Flex and SFF form factor power supplies that are bundled with media center and SFF cases, including cases made by big name brands such as Lian Li.
