I am working on a car mod and have a screen already installed and working, but it was cheap and already starting to show burn in problems. I am looking for something that is 5-7 inches and can run when the car is on and not have issues displaying a mostly static image minus some digital gauges changing.
The system being plugged into the screen uses RCA connections but if needed we can try to work with an adapter. I am looking at all options, something that is just a screen with a connection (no bezel), a screen with a bezel, etc. Price range I would rather not spend more than 250-300 on the screen. I have checked newegg & amazon and a lot of the options I keep having come up are for portable screens but are bulky with low quality screens.

Any other questions to help let me know.

What you using now?

Lilliput has a crapload of different offerings, most sub $250. I had one when I was doing my car project, but ran out of time and sold i tall.

You may try the forum at http://www.mp3car.com.

The market for tiny screens is weird -- you would think that the decent tablet panels would have trickled down by now, but the supply shortages appear to have stifled innovation.

The Lilliput screens are the old standard, but haven't changed much over the years. doublesight has some small monitors, but they aren't generally very good with either viewing angles or brightness. You might be best off trying to buy a used tablet, a 7" galaxy tab for instance, and hacking something together. Anyway, curious as to others thoughts and to what you figure out.

The current screen is a Power Acoustik, I think it was around 300 bucks (cannot find it on the website).
I will take a look at Lilliput, the issue with doing a tablet is most are setup to output their video and not take an input source without stripping it all apart. Maybe 3 years ago a few of the big car audio companies had screens which were clean & simple but stop manufacturing them once double dins became so popular.
