Look, everyone seems to have their panties in a bunch over Farcry and patch 1.2 and its SM3 shaders.
Ya the Nvidia card runs better on farcry 1.2, but then again (can you really tell the differnce of a few FPS?), dont I see a sponsored by nvidia logo around this game? So what do you expect? Nvidia obviousy talked to the devs to add this funtionality to this game, so their product would run it better. So what, I say.
This is ONLY one game of many many thousands of games. This by no ways illistrates the way the gaming industry is going. Even if more games take use of SM3, it will not be overnight. By the time it is used by more then a SINGLE game, ATI will most likly also have its own SM3 card out.
Now I wil not get into the whole "SM3 is worthless" ect. arguemtn. I could care less. I think Nvidia just wanted to have some new tech to lure customers back. I think it is a waist. Games have hardly even started to make use of all of DX9's functionalitys.
So why make such drastic claims on a single game, that all in all, is not that good.
