My computer specs:
AMD AthlonXP (Barton) 2.2GHz
512MB Infineon DDR400 RAM (3-3-8 Timing)
ASUS A7N8X Deluxe
nVidia GeForce FX5600
Seagate 80GB SATA 8MB Cache HD
WindowsXP SP2
Here's the problem. I have been using Photoshop and Dreamweaver together for quite some time now, ignoring the blatent lag while switching between each of these programs.
But now, I've had it. The time it takes to switch from program to program is now bordering on stupid. It takes literally about 6 seconds counted out.
What I want to know is what could be causing this? I have all the latest nVidia drivers installed, as well as the latest (according to ASUS) SATA Drivers installed. My RAM is paired and is running in Dual Channel @ 400MHz. I'm really curious as to what the actual bottleneck is. I was monitoring my CPU usage during these heavy loads and it hit 100% a couple times, but not continuously. In my working environment, about 50-100 MB would be free, even with Photoshop loaded up with files. Dreamweaver likewise.
Any Ideas? Is my system showing its signs of aging already?
