My computer is unusually slow for a P4 3ghz w 1gb of ram and idk wats wrong...it takes like 5 seconds after i click a shortcut for it to startup...its quite annoying. :confused:
 
I think the cpu is overheatting and thermal throttling is kicking in
 
maybe you've got several Folding @ Home clients working as "service" :D
 
ocrazyitaliano: Use this to scan for spyware but update it first, restart the program and then scan.

load up task manager and sort the process list by CPU use and/or memory use and see what's using the most.
 
don't forget a virus check...

and look in task manager... how many processes are running?
 
Do a quick check for excessive dust on the cpu heatsink, you may very well be throttling, might as well eliminate that possibility.
