I was send files to one of my storage servers and noticed I was only getting about 20MB per second transfer over my network.
All my other servers average about 110MB per second transfer over the network.
So, I went to the physical box and noticed that the CPU usage is almost 75% on a drive to drive (local) transfer of a file. (Test file was 1.2GB .mvk )
The speed did improve during the local transfer ( 85MB per second).
I then pulled the same file from the 1st server to this system and got about 60MB per second. CPU load was 50%.
Specs: Server 2008 R2 x64 , 4GB RAM, Celeron 430 @ 1.8ghz.
I am just guess that cpu is way under powered for this server. Any thoughts?
