I just moved and set up a network in my new appartment. The configuration is as follows:

Comcast cable internet (4Mb) with a Motorola SB5100 Surfboard modem connected to a Netgear WGT624 v3 WiFi router. My PC is connected via ethernet to the Netgear router and my girlfriends iMac is connected via WiFi.

My problem is that our connection is slow for general web surfing. I can download from some sites at full speed but web pages load really slowly. Firefox always reports that it's "waiting for xxxx" server when I load a page. This happens on my PC as well as my girlfriends iMac.

Another thing to note is that when I run a speed test from broadbandreports.com from my PC it reports somewhere around 2.5-2.8Mb/sec. but when I run the same test, from the same server, on my girlfriends iMac it reports 3.5-3.8Mb/sec.

Any clue what the likely cause is? I'm guessing it might be a router setting but I'm not sure which.

I'm using the onboard L.A.N port on my DFI Lanparty NF4 Ultra-D.

Thanks for any help you can offer.
