I recently purchase a couple of 10k sca drives. I put them in a storage array and they would only push like 18mbyte/sec, so i hooked one up with a 2 plug scsi cable with terminator on the end and a sca adapter. But it still only does 18mbyte/sec.

My system specs:

2500+@2.08
1gig ram
DFI lanparty mobo rev a
39160 adaptec scsi controller

A friend told me that i should probably see 40mbyte/sec out of these drives. Any help would be apreciated.

are the sca-adapters LVD-compatible? did you check your SCSI-Bios configuration?

How old are the drives? Older 10K SCSI drives pale in comparison to the newer ones.
