slow random read plextor m5 pro

I just installed a Plextor m5 pro xtreme in a laptop and the random read is 123-130 mb/s and random write is 100-120 mb/s
It is running on an older laptop with sata II and the laptop has only 1gb pc2-4300 ram.
What could be causing the slowdown?
The bench I use is crystal mark 3
 
I think I fond the "problem" The sata port is sata 1 not sata 2. Would the above numbers make more sense for a sata 1.5 port?

Yes. These are reasonable numbers for SATA I. I assume your 4K low queue depth numbers are reasonable since most SSDs can't saturate SATA I in 4K reads and writes.
 
I'm not sure SATA1 should go that low.

Make sure that your partitions are aligned correctly so that you 4 KB accesses match the 4 K blocks or whatever the size is for your SSD (as opposed to half of one block and half of the next).

SATA I tops out at 150MB/s however its not like manufacturers had to worry about getting full bandwidth out of their SATA I controllers since hard drives of that time were no were near needing that. Even today a lot of hard drives do not break 150MB/s in STR.

It also may be that the SATA controller is attached to the PCI bus instead of the PCIe bus.
