Slow problems?

I just got a new 200 Gig hard drive and moved all my games to it. All my games are super slow when I first start them now. The 2 hard drives are the same(the new and old one) speed. Are there any tweaks or anything that might be wrong?

Heres a picture of how I have the hard drives configed. Anything I can change?(C is the old one and G is my new hard drive thats slow)

Are the disks on the same channel? Try putting them on seperate channels (cables) and setting them both to master.
Actually, you should probably have the larger drive as the system disk, but if you have an OS on the C drive and can't be bothered formatting both disks and installing stuff, then don't.
 
I have both hard drives on 1 channel. I have 2 cd drives on the other channel. Should I put 1 hard drive and 1 cd drive to a channel? I would make C my system disk but I have 20 gigs of stuff I download off the internet and installed and deleted the install files and dont want to redo all of that right now. I rather do that over break and probley will.
 
It would help if you did what you are saying, put one HD and one CD per channel. Two hard drives on one channel is fine, but not good for performance.

And when you do get the chance to reformat and make the big disk the system disk, I would do it.
 
Ill probley end up making the small one for system since its just a little faster and I need the big one for all my games that I have. Also is there any other configuration I should do the the hard drive? Like change it? The layout and all that is different from my first one, should I make it the same layout? Thanks for the help so far. :D

How do you mean by layout? Like partitioning? Or something else?
 
Look at the G drive in this picture than the C drive. G is the new drive that I just set up.

ahh yes I see what you mean, i think, and you could set it up like the first one, just as long as you don't lose data (if you're concerned about it). I don't really have experience with that program, so I couldn't tell you :(

Its built into windows. Control Panel>Administrative Tools>Computer Management. Even though its suposed to be used for passworded computers theres some usefull tools there I use alot.

Yeah, having 98SE means I don't know all the tricks of the trade with XP...

But yeah, I would try to change it to something like the first one.
