Anyone notice slow network performance using nVidia Firewall & their Network Access Manager?
Yesterday I installed a A8N-SLI Premium w/ 4800+, 2gig, & 7800gtx. Once everything was configured I ran some quick test. To my suprise Sandra reported 3500 kB/s to my server over 100BT full-duplex. This should be near 10000kB/s.
To solve this problem I first ensured 100BT Full-duplex was negotiated and that I was using the nVidia port. Testing again showed no difference. Then I turned off nVidia's Firewall, again no difference. Then I uninstalled nVidia's Network Access Manager software. Problem solved.
The firewall was configured for medium security. I don't know if setting it to low would have resulted in a performance gain.
What sort of hardware assist does the MCP provide? With a 66% performance drop I can't imagine it assisting.
