so when i come out of sleep mode or a restart it takes up to 5 sec for the internet to be ready (direct lan to modem). might not seem like too long but it's just long enough to click on chrome and get the no internet message. any way to speed it up?

make sure "allow computer to turn this device off" is unticked in device manager. start there and if that doesn't help try a driver update.

no luck with allow pc to turn off. all drivers up to date, chipset, bios, lan, vga, etc.
gigabyte z170mx 6600k

turns out windows was trying my disabled usb network adapter first then a slow dhcp. removed adapter and setup static ip still watch it initialize but much faster now. if i want to use usb adapter is there anyway to configure what adapter gets initialized first?

not that I know of.. if you figure it out let us know. I have a similar issue with my external hdd. if its connected during boot it take an extra 15-20 seconds to initialize the hdd before loading windows.
