Slow extracting on Vista 64

Whenever i try to extract some rar files movies mostly it takes ages, to get done
like 2 mins for 800 mb movie ? Also copying time is quite long also.
I'm almost sure its not my hard (cause sometimes it goes really fast)
E.g: sometime i can extract/copy 1gb files in 10 sec and sometimes it
takes alot more any ideas?

Probably the amount of compression used on the archives. More compression = longer uncompressing times.

That's all I can think of.
