I have a 160 gb maxtor, 2 western digital 120gb raid 0, and a 250 gb maxtor. My 250 gb maxtor died on me about a week ago.. and i sent for an RMA... i got the new drive yesterday, installed it... and it runs VERY slow for some reason. sisoft sandra 2004 won't finish running on it and its quite aggravating. everything else runs fine. I'm wondering if anybody knows what the problem is. Is it a defective hard drive?

Start > Run > (type) devmgmt.msc (enter) > IDE ATA/ATAPI controllers > the appropriate channel > Advanced Settings Tab > appropriate device > Current Transfer Mode > Ultra DMA Mode?
