I recently installed the new catalyst drivers for my 9800pro. Since then on, when win XP hits the Welcome screen it boots in about..a minute or so. I used to boot alot faster, like 30 seconds.I am not sure if the drivers are what made the difference? I dont think it was the catalyst drivers because when I start up, connect to the internet and enter internet explorer, and go to google, it immediately opens up another browser and seems to be an advertise? Once i click out, it doesnt happen again. My computer runs fine except for that startup wait. Im not sure what to Disable in Msconfig if the problem is even in there. Any help would be appreciated. Thanx

Whenever I get slow boots I just delete all the startup programs.
But I'm no expert :D

You should read the path to each file MSCONFIG lists as a startup file, and that should give you a clue to what it is. Also, the icon can help as well. If not, go to Google and look up the filename.

You also need to install and run some Spyware Remover, like Ad-Aware.
