I added an 80 gb WD drive to my computer just to store some extra stuff. It seems to be working fine, but when I boot up the computer takes forever.

The system right now is:

MSI k8n neo plat
amd 3200+ 64
6800 graphics card
2x 36.7 raptor drives raided

Once windows loads everything seems to run fine, I'm just wondering why it takes so much longer to boot after the addition of a hard drive?

How much longer are we talking, and I is it an IDE or SATA HD

I am assuming your raided Raptors are the ones holding the OS etc

Yes, the raptors have my OS on them and the new HD is IDE. As far as increased length, I would say my boot time has gone from about 20 seconds till windows pops up to over a minute.

Do you have another IDE devices, or is this the only one, and you had the IDE controller disabled?

Nevermind... it seems the jumper on the back of the HD was in the wrong spot, just moved it to cable select and its back to normal.
