My friends hard drive went up and he got a new one. Its 60 gigs at 7200 rpm. After switching to it his computer is super slow. What could cause this?

EDIT: Reinstalled Windows XP. The only thing that changed is hard drive.

Word of advice, give more details in posts like this. Show benchmarks, not percieved feel, explain the hardware changed to and from, did OS change from 2000 to xp, xp to 200, etc. THe more you give the better we can answer

Chipset drivers maybe? As defakto mentioned, we're kind of shooting in the dark with so little information.

Yea me too. I have no idea what hes got in his machine. Im goin over there in like 15 mins to work on it. Just wanted some ideas of where to start. I just hope he still has his chipset drivers cd.
