I jus finished building my new E6400/P5B-DLX/2GB G.SKILL DDR2-800 rig.

Previous rig was OPTY 165@2.7/2GB G.Skill HZ's/DFI ULTRA-D

Vid Card is a x1800xt 512mb for both systems

Everything seems to run ok but when i attempt to run any 3D benchmarks...my results are anything but satisfactory.

E6400 @ 6x450 = 2.7Ghz (1.25Vcore in bios)
Aquamark: 56,000
3DMark06: 4300

Opty 165 @ 9x300 = 2.7Ghz (1.425 Vcore in bios
Aquamark: 101,000
3DMark06: 5093

Why the hell was my opty performing way better??? What am i missing? Fresh install of winxp with latest vidcard/Inf/soundcard drivers.

Complete Build:

E6400
P5B DELUXE
G.Skill HZ PC-6400
36GB Raptor (OS)
80GB Seagate (Games)
250GB Maxtor (Storage)
Pioneer DVD/RW
LG DVD/RW
Enermax Liberty 620

I've exhausted my options here.

Ok... I don't get it...

Reset FSB/MULTI/VCORE to stock in bios... Rebooted... Ran Aquamark3d... Scored 102K... WTF

So i was thinking it's gotta be not enuff voltage because it was 1.25 or the 6x multi is messin shit up

So then i changed it to 6x266 and ran that in aquamark still keeping stock vcore
Scored 86K... (Rule out 6x multi causing problem)

Went back to 6x450 and scored 117K (now thinking it had to be the voltage)

Change it to 1.25Vcore... scored 118K

I rebooted the pc like 20 times before posting here... maybe setting everything to default did it... i dunno... strangeness but problem solved.

Interesting. Glad it worked itself out. Out of curiousity, which part of the tests were low, CPU or Video?

just video scores were down by like 300pts in 3dm06 and cpu was down too 200 pts

Just ran it and Scored 5302 @ 6x450 1.25V... same setting that gave me 43xx.

How come you're only running a 6X multi?

If your board can do 450 then your CPU is easily good for 7 X 450 at the Intel default of 1.325 volts.

The C2D loves this setting so give it a boost. Next stop, 8 X 450. :D
