Is it possible to unlock the slot 1 P3? If so, how would I do it? I wish to up the multiplier, I have attempted changing the multiplier jumper on the board, but it doesn't change the processor speed. So, what can be done to this to get it to accept the new settings? Currently it is running at 450 mhz, it would be nice to be able to sqeeze a few more mhz out of this.

the P3s are locked.

why don't ya up the FSB?

Unless the CPU is an Engineering Sample, the CPU's multiplier cannot be changed.

AFAIK, Intel laser-cuts the clock multiplier adjustment circuits on the die, and it cannot be undone.

I tryed to do a p3 today with every Oc tool in the world. No luck. Tought little bugger. :(

Thanks for the information. Knew there was a reason why I switched to AMD processors.

I used to own a P3450 and ran it for a while at 133 x 4.5 = 600 on a BF6 and also on a MSI 6163. It can be done but I had some mega cooling
