Anyone have any experience with these? I am thinking more along the lines of noise / vibration levels. There won't be a lot of fans in it, but the case I have currently isn't really built for noise reduction.

Aesthetics I am not really worried about but build quality and ease of use I am.

Cheers.

Yeah, another vote for the 3700, since it is only slightly larger in terms of volume [as opposed to drive bays and whatnot] and has space for 2x120mm fans.

Thanks. I think I will go with one of those. Not too much more and I like the look of them better.

Cheers.

the major difference is the hard drive rack and the PCI brackets, which is why I'm voting for the 3700. Its worth the 15$

My vote goes for the 2650... I built my brother's Prescott system in it. Thanks to Asus which throttles the CPU fan, the thing is totally and completely silent. And hella sexy...

lol, I have the SLK1600!!! It sucks...

another vote for my case's daddy... the 3700...

The only difference I can see between the SLK1600 and the SLK2650/SLK3700 is the different fan sizes and the quieter power supplies (SL350S; single fan). The SLK1600 is essentially the same as the Antec Lanboy, but built from steel and has no window.

Now I'm really confused, because I have no idea what the diffferences are between the SLK2650 and the SLK3700-BQE. I know that the SLK3700-BQE has the SL350S PSU, but what makes it different from the 2650?

<edit> I've looked at the two... the SLK3700-BQE is bigger. Other than that, I don't really see anything else. I'd go with the SLK3700-BQE.

Your major difference is that both of the 3700 series allows 120mm fans. You wil be pushing more air at a lesser volume. For optimal noise reduction, get the 3700 AMB (if you don't mind the paintjob) it has better airflow (because the sideways HDD rack doesn't block air coming in from the front).

Then, swap out the PSU for a Nexus NX-3500 or if you need more power an Enermax Noisetaker, cut out out the rear fan grill (too restrictive) and replace the stock fan with a Panaflo 120mm L1A. That should give a pretty silent system depending on your HSF and HDD.

If you're going to get the BQE, you're getting a quieter PSU... so depending on your tastes you won't have to change it. Its much quieter stock than the AMB... but if you're willing to mod it a bit I think the AMB is a superior case. its what I have right now and I love the silence.

I bought an SLK-3700BQE becuse I needed a quiet case to mount a Smoothwall based firewall in. I was shocked at just how quiet it was. With just 1 120mm exhaust fan running, the PS and a 92mm Zalman fan I had lying aound for CPU cooling, you practically cannot hear the thing running. This is a really a nice case for the money. When I build another system and want to focus on quiet as opposed to perfomance I'm going to buy another one of these.

If you wan the maximum noise reduction then get an AcoustiPack for this case reviewed at Silent PC Review.

i have a 3700bqe with a antec 430. i plugged my 120mm fans into the 5v and they're basically inaudible now. although, i should try volt modding them to 7v so they can push a bit more air, right now it's just a slight breeze. my harddrives seeking is louder than my fans!

BQE it is then. I'll spend a little more money down the line and add some of the mods everyone is suggesting. At the moment I am using a Supermicro SC-750 and I like the case, but the fans and HDD cause the sides to vibrate / resonate a bit too much for my taste.

Thanks all.

Cheers.
