slight new computer problemo.....

hey all I'm having a slight problemo with a new budget computer I bult for my friend. we got an ecs kt-600 A board with an amd sempron 2300 chip, wintech 512mb pc-3200 memory, at radeon 9200 se, well that's just the basic parts I guess. Anyways, the board says 400 fsb, and the chip is 33, and memory is also 400, but when I boot the thing, it only shows 133 fsb and nothing higher. Anyone know anything that could be causing this :confused:
 
the memory divider...the RAM can't run at 333MHz and the FSB can't run at 400MHz..therefore it will have to change frequencies and dividers (RAM:CPU FSB).

it's either 3:2 or 5:4...probably 5:4..let me check my math..for some reason this isn't working out ><

but yeah..there's really nothing wrong..
 
it's booting a 133 fsb and the cpu is a default 333, also, there is no 166 or even 200 in the bios and even when I try manual I get nothing as well
 
alright I'm on the thing right now and it says in the system properties authentic amd, 949 mhz, 512mb of ram. Is there a program I can use to put it back up to standard in windows, or will I have to update the bios? any ideas?
 
well I updated the bios and still get the same problemo :mad: I can only set it to 132 fsb and 133 memory. Is there any way I could fix the problemo
 
you know what screw it I give up it'll be fine at this speed not like he does any games to blow the system, so I think it'll be fine
 
Some boards have the feature of changing the FSB speed as a jumper rather than through BIOS. I'd start by checking that on your board...
 
oh wait I think I found the problemo. On the memory requirements it said the stuff about accepting all ddr 266 333 ones and on the 400 it said either one 2 sided one or 2 one sided memory of 400. Then it gave a note saying not all ddr 400 chips will work PROPERLY. I think I'll try another chip and see what happens.
 
haha turns out there was a jumper on the board and that fixed everything! I got it at 210 now stable as a hooker on her fist day..... sweeeeeeet :D
 
Wow. I don't think you listened to a single suggestion or wrote a legible sentence this entire thread...........
