SLI with mixed brands?

I have a BFG GTX 260 (original 192 core version). Is there any harm if I SLI this with a different brand, like EVGA or something like that? Reason I ask is, I know EVGA ships their cards with overclocking software (called Precision, I think). If I can mix brands, can I still use the overclocking software or should I just stick with nTune?

Also, can I mix a 192 core with a 216 core? what about "OC" editions of the card (mine is stock clocks).

Thanks!

Yes and Yes.

Mind you the faster 260 will clock itself down to the slower 260's level.

yup it all will work fine, i have a evga 8800gtx and a xfx 8800gtx that i use the EVGA's precision with and they work without any problems

IMHO, 260-216 and 192 won't work together in sli,but check at evga forums
