Well.. i don't think it is neccesarily that easy. I currently run SLI GTX's and could see the possilbe change. When i fist got the system, it wasn't exactly suiting my needs. The vysnc issue was the biggest of my problems which totally soured my outlook on SLI at that time. They have fixed the vsync issue and it has made a HUGE difference, and i know that the SLI rig is without a doubt faster than an XT. I just wonder if there is anything to all the "ati has better quality" bs, as well as wondering if the XT would actually provide a smoother game experience due to less dips in fps. Then there is the 512mb of ram aspect, that although doesn't really directly relate to more performance, it does plain and simple allow for more detail than the SLI setup. Just wondered if anyone actually has experience with both setups.
Honestly, everyone who says ATI's image quality is so much better has probably never used comparable cards and my comparisons with them
They are so very similar
The worst thing ever, is the articles, when a site zooms one spot 400% to see 2 more jagged lines on one card than the other, it is pointless
Unless it is a bug in the drivers, they produce the same image
As for those who go on about shimmering, ATI does have the new HQ AF, which i agree looks nice(in only a few instances really) but could not justify downgrading your performance
