SLI Question

I know this is a major nOOb question but..... when you upgrade from one card to two do you need to get a card from the same manufacturer or is just having the same model, say 8800gt ultra, good enough? thanks

Just the same model. They don't even have to be at the same clocks, the SLI configuration will down clock to the slowest card I believe.
