Sli profile manager

very nice. kinda sad that nvidia has to rely on generic joes to write control apps that are better than theirs.

well if you were talking about me, then you should know I have a 6800GT in my main rig.
still the point remains, from what people have posted, Nvidias SLI mgtm tool sucks, and some regular made a better one with not much effort.

i found the SLI control settings integrated into the profile manager of the 71.xx driver sets to be fairly intuitive. It even has control over AFR, SFR, single GPU options in it.

Granted it's still fairly buggy in its current implementation, however it is something fairly promising if nvidia gets around to an "official" 7 series release.

I said it with tounge in cheek. I was being sarcastic becuase of the negative response irrespective of the card you held. Its all a matter of perception i guess.

I beleive that part of the charm of owning sli is taking part in its rifinement. I see tools like this, the first of many i am sure, as part of the overall ownership experience. The tools will get better an better and eventually sli will be a ubiquious as turning a light switch and fo coarse then it wont be as much fun and on to newer tech :D

Sad would be Nvidia asking us for donations to fund thier driver team

i guess we differ here on opinion. I dont want charm, I want it to work. if people pay extra cash for two high price cards, nvidia can pay one of their coders an extra week in salary to crank out a very simple app. we are not talking advanced driver stuff here, just a basic XML file for the SLI codes.

You make a good point, perhaps I should sell my nvidia stock so i can be a little more objective .

IF it were that easy it would already be done. There is a huge difference between this app and programming drivers to work with games in SLI mode ( or codes ). btw: the app looks nice!

No, its that easy. You tell the driver to load a certain profile based on the game you run. There a limited number of games, and a limited number of profiles. A very simple app. A VB student could do it in a week. THERE IS NO DRIVER programming.

You want to see how easy it is?

theres your profile. now write an app that allows you to view edit multiple profiles, without a bunch of bugs or other limitations. Nvidia hasnot done it. Like I said, not rocket science. It just smacks of laziness on nvidias part.
