SLI performance issue?

I just recently bought a 37" westy and am now running two 8800 gts 640mb stock in sli.

for a performance boost check i went into WoW to see the difference, and I assumed i would be able to run wow at 1920 x 1080 with all sliders maxed with vsync on and not see the fps drop below 60, but it sometimes goes down to 40, which kind of makes me wonder. Is this normal?

on a side note after i installed SLI my system has been running a little bit unstable OS wise...

sm bus controller keeps triggering the auto detect hardware function, and i dont know what to do about that.

I can't remember for sure, but could of sworn that SLI didn't work well with WoW, googling brought up some posts about it actually hurting performance by 10-15fps with SLI enabled.

And for the os issues, make sure your using the newest OFFICIAL drivers along that making sure they are running the same clock speed, i found that my bios on one of my 7800GT's was making the card run 275mhz core in 2d while the other card wasn't, it caused all sorts of havok with my system.
