SLI on P35 possible?

Various forums seem to hint that there is a mod to allow any motherboard with two PCIE slots to run SLI. I've got an Asus P5ke wifi and GTX 260 that I'd consider keeping around if that were the case. Could someone please provide me a definitive answer on if this can be done and how?

There is a guide to it on Techpowerup with links to the necessary files. I can't remember the thread name but it does work.
 
even if you could get it working you shouldn't. I have two 4850s in my ABIT IP35 PRO and with newer games they are actually slower in crossfire than a single card. The P35 PCIE slots are in a 16/4x config and that causes a huge performance penalty in newer games.
 
You'd be better off springing for a new board from what I've read even if you get it working it's not really optimized for SLi.
 
Thanks for the input. Sounds like I'd be better served getting into a GTX 470 or 5870.

5870 will give the option of going eyefinity if you think you might do that later, but I'm picky at this point I refuse to buy a board unless it'll support Sli/CF incase I wanna do that later.
