Ive read the reviews so far from places like [H]ardOCP, Anandtech, and even Tom's, so I was wondering what everyone's thoughts on what we see so far is.

One thing Im concerned about is some of the remarks in the Tom's article talking about some games not SLI capable at all and SLI even reducing performance in some games. Now i play alot of the games they talked about, not just Half Life 2 or Doom 3, especially Unreal 2k4. I definitely wont invest $1000-1200 if im goign to LOOSE performance with Unreal 2k4. Heck, even the X800XT PE did better in Unreal 2k4 It may be great for the top 3 games, Far Cry, Doom 3, and Half Life 2, but I really was hoping for a more wide range of boosts. For that much money, I want more then those 3 games only. Some of the problem is that it seems its all cpu bound, but that stil doesnt make it an easy buy, when 1 6800 ultra performs equal to 2 ultras, i dont care if its cpu bound or what, its not an investment i want to make lol.

I also dont like seeing that it seems alot of the scores are cpu bound in all the tests ive seen and that SLI only shows its usefullness at 1600x1200(1280x1040 with quality settings) and at that level, you would need a beefy cpu and system to match. I already knew SLI wouldnt be cheap, but this doesnt bode well for making it an upgrade option.

I do kind of like the idea of using an nvidia and ati card at the same time. since each card has strengths in certain games, I could get the best for each game lol, but that might be a crazy investment. But alot of people have to choose between ati and nvidia when they play both doom3 and hl2, that would be one way of solving it lol.

It looks like Im going to be waiting a while longer to see if driver revisions clean up some of the problems with SLI, but its a fine showing so far, clearly being only for the highest end of the enthusiast thought lol.
