Hey, i want to get nvidia surround, three monitors, but don't have the money for a gpu upgrade right now. But, i would like to buy the monitors and at least get that out of the way.

So obviously, i wouldn't be able to play bf3 on sli 1gb 460s at 5760 x 1080.
But, would i be able to at least play games like l4d2 and team fortress 2 at a nice fps on high settings?

Without AA those games should be playable. "nice fps" isn't a very specific target but you should be able to get over 60fps with high settings (and no AA or aniso).

Source engine games are pretty easy to run in surround, even with 2x or 4x aa. In general though, I find it works better with my 460's to just leave aa off and use Nvidia's FXAA driver option instead.

If you get a second 460, be very careful. Nvidia did a silent update to a v2 version of the 460 that uses a mixed memory bus and is not compatible with the older 460's. I'm pretty sure every new 460 on the market is a v2, so you'll probably have to pick up one that's used.
