Sleeving SATA Cables

I'm wondering how to do this. I want to sleeve my SATA data cables but have had problems getting the sleeving over the connectors, is there some way to remove them? When I try putting the sleeving over the connectors it frays the ends. I'm using mdpc-x sleeving.
 
I had similar problems, it helps to singe the ends with a lighter or something, but if you're using non-black sleeving it could discolor a bit. Luckily the ends go under some heatshrink (which is a HUGE bitch to get over the sata connectors). I spent about 15 minutes getting heatshrink on my first sata cable.
 
Always melt the ends with a lighter before putting the sleeving over anything. Once it's melted you can stretch it over the ends without it fraying.
 
Thanks, I'll try that out! I finished my mobo connector and gave up for a while. This is a lot more work than I thought it would be!
 
I hadn't even thought about using a lighter, that made it incredibly easy!
