Sleeving recommendations

Wow the colors on the Lutro0 sleeving are gorgeous. I think I may have to invest in some of that for my next build.
For reference:
You need to take a look at the MDPC-X site.

Nils has some of the most beautiful colors you could imagine. Not to mention the photography is excellent as well.

MDPC-X
There are no other choices out there.

Hehehe.....there are tons of choices, but they are inferior.

To be fair, I have never used any LutroO products.

I've use just about everything else and honestly I can't say MDPC-X has a rival.:D

Nils also sell top quality sleeving and crimping tools, as well as all the little items you need.
That said, FrozenCPU has pretty good pins and plastic connectors.

I usually order all my wire from McMaster......cheap,cheap,cheap.

^ Just checked out McMaster and they have some rather nice prices. I think I'm gonna try the lutr0 stuff for now. Although I wish he had the black weave with blue accent PET sleeving instock.

You know, I love MDPC-X. My sleeving is MDPC-X. However, if you've not tried the competitors you have no business saying they can't compare because you don't have a clue and in my opinion, yours is irrelevant. I believe in trying out someones products before making statements about their quality.

How long is the turnaround for MDPC usually?

Depends on where in the US you live.

I'm on the East Coast so once I order it is generally 7-10 days. Real days, not business days.

Nils generally ships out the same day.

Currently he has weird shop hours for his international customers, so browse the European site and stake out what you want. you only have about 30-60 minutes to get the order done.

He ships Deutsche Post which then becomes USPS, I generally have to sign for the order.

I usually order a shit load of stuff twice a year or so to cut down on shipping, which is pricy for a large buy.

Ah, thanks. I don't mind waiting 7-10 days, but I'd be concerned if it took two or three weeks since he seems to be almost doing made-to-order sort of deal. I think the West Coast would add another extra day.

Honestly, it isn't aweful. one of my orders actually arrived in less than a week, but usually it's about 10 days.
He doesn't have any tracking (there is, but he doesn't give you the numbers unless something weird happens) so you just have to sit back and wait.
He's very responsive to email, and let's you know when the order leaves his shop.
The shipping is very reliable and I've never had a problem.:D Plus he puts a cool little hand-drawn cartoon character type thing one each package and always includes samples of other colors of sleeve. If you want to look at a particular color just ask and he'll send a sample with your order.

Did someone say sleeving?

I bought all of Lutro0's stock of MDPC and he decided to throw everything else he had in the box....STill sorting through it all.

I've used the MDPC-X line of sleeves and I have to say, its great to work with.. I've also used Paracord and Kobra stuff and the MDPC-X stuff tops out at the top for me still. While it isn't cheap, but you do get what you pay for.. I still have some left from a batch I had bought and plan on continuing to use it until I find something else better.

I'll take the aquamarine stuff off your hands ;)

Got any in brownish / earthly colors? I'd like to try some and see if it patches copper.

Once I sort everything out and put it in the light box, I will make sure to show you guys what I have. This is happening over the next day or 2 so stay tuned. :)

I was the scrappy little guy who went up against the status quote in my field

It's "status quo". Sorry...
With that said, I suck at sleeving and I have MDPC stuff. I would like to try the LC stuff to see if it helps me out any.

Wow, that's awesome! :D my eyes keep bugging out at that box full of sleeving lol.

Oh the darker blue? I have a roll of probably 100-120' of SATA sleeve just like that.

Looks lighter to me, but that cold be the crappy monitor i'm using. Was hoping to have my vanyl wrapped case pieces today and I could give you an example of what i'm looking for. But haven't been able to get a hold of the guy thats doing the wrap for me.

Also looking for black.

I will have proper light box pictures soon as I attempt to either sell it or use it to sell extensions but I'm going to wait until I have all of it. I can't post it here on H though, as I've already gotten the no-go from the mod team here so I will have to find another way to sell it all.

What do you mean, you can't sell your extensions through the trade forum here for some reason? I was thinking of cheaply selling some extensions that I'm making as practice so I can sleeve better.

I don't think the Trade/Sale forum is for stuff that you make yourself. It's rather self promotion for profit....which isn't kosher.
It's primarily to sell or trade commercial/retail parts, cases and other things bought retail.

I would think the left-over MDPC-X sleeve is rather a gray area.......I would not see a big deal posting it for sale in the forums as it is legitimate product.....but that's just me.

So I did find the military colors but there isn't much of it. I do have a ton of blue though.

Here's a few shots of some double Y cable madness.

And basically, they said I cannot sell my extensions here since that's a for-profit thing so guess you'll have to find me some other way...

Got some more Lutro0 Customs Coreless Paracord in the mail yesterday, took some pics this morning and wanted to share with you some of the beauty of this coreless paracord that will be going into Frank. This Imperial Red is awesome, I love it.

I need some a set of extension's for my set up. too lazy to do it myself.

In Torrance California, there's a spot called Torrance Electric, tiny shop, best place for any enthusiast.
i'd suggest looking for a shop exactly like this, a small mom and pop semi/distributor of hard to find electronics for electricians or radio/communications hobbiest. they had reams of sleeving cables in different colors and sizes. not too hard to do if u got the time. the cheapest worked EXACTLY the most expensive in my experience, one might find more suitable colors from one brand to the next.

I got some sleeving done with the Lutro0 Customs Coreless Paracord and figured I would share some pics of how the cables turned out with the colors used:

I'd only suggest MDPC-X or Lutro0 Customs.

Lutro0 is awesome he did my sleeving for me and looks great.

I looked into doing it myself and the work involved.. sheesh.
Same thing for looking into the supplies it actually came out cheaper having someone else do it for me.

Whew, my wait to finish the cables is now over - the Lutro0 Customs Black Coreless paracord has arrived! I stopped to take some pics of this stuff, I totally love this goodness and had to try to do it some justice behind the lens. Now its going on the wires I have been waiting to sleeve. I have the 24-Pin in progress.......

By far the easiest sleeve I have ever used and a perfect blend of density, size, color, and overall ease of use for sleeving. It is extremely forgiving for new sleevers.

It is 3 and some years of research trial and error finally in fruition.

It will be for sale soon as the rest of the colors and sata sizes come.

Finally a sleeve perfect for both shrink and shrinkless sleeving that doenst need a special heatshrink to use the shrink method and will contour to some of the thinnest 18awg and thickest 16awg, :thumb:

I am just a tad bit excited. :p

That looks pretty nice LutroO. When you get it up for sale, I'll have to pick up some and give it a shot.
