I have a corsair HX850 that I would like to have sleeved.. I have the MDPX sociopack which should be enough to sleeve the PSU.

I want to see if someone is interested in doing the sleeving for me.. I will provide the sleeving and the psu and shipping / $ for the work. If so please drop a msg in here or send me a pm. Please include pics or previous work.

You can also aim me @ kenjiwing.

You've got some expensive components there and I know the reluctance to try and fail... but there really isn't anything to be afraid of. My first sleeving was my HX1000W with MurderMod and I just put my head down and started doing it. It's not that hard and I would encourage you to get the Sunbeam Kit to remove the wires from the connectors and sleeve away.

Ya the main thing is parts... I didnt buy the $20 EU part on murdermod because I figured there was a much cheaper alternative.. but I am going to give it a try but if it doesnt work out I currently have someone that the owner of murdermod recommended.

The atx pin extracter? Just use a couple staples, or flatted paperclips for free. I am amazed that Murdermod is charging what $45-$65+ for parts you can get on Ebay for about $12-$20, I wonder how many they sell.

Parts? The sleeving / heatshrink they use is much higher quality than the cheap vantec kits...

But I agree the little pin remover is kind of pointless... I've been able to get the pins out of a lot of connections with just paper clip / few other tools I got laying around, although I'd hate to do a bunch of power supplies with that method.

Yes, the sleeving. $65 for that stuff is insane. I ordered 50' of 1/8th for $6, plus $2 shipping. Their stuff is nice looking, it's still ridiculously over-priced. If you look outside of specialty shops you can find a lot for the same items like that for a lot less, we use the sleeving for covering servo, and gyro wiring in our shop.

Yea I originally got the same kit for $50 or 55 I think

The other part is it comes with 3 to 1 heatshrink which is a bit more expensive...

I'm looking at mcmaster for sleeving, you can tell the difference and get some sleeving that looks similar to murdermod for cheaper, just the 3-1 heatshrink is expensive...

Oh well :)

There's a seller on Ebay has some sleeving that I think is pretty close to the same stuff, I am waiting on another sample. The last stuff I got was the expandable sleeving, this stuff isn't really expandable, and he said it real soft, the weave is tight, we'll see in a couple days. His name is furryletters.

If you're interested I got the second batch today of the different stuff, exactly what I was expecting, very tight weave, soft, non-expanding, while I've never seen the MM stuff in person, I can't imagine it being any better than this stuff.

In the pic is the expandable flex sleeving, like the Vantec stuff, on the right is the stuff I got today. Now I gotta source some cheap heat shrink. We've got a supplier at work, hmmm I wonder if he'd cut me a deal on bulk stuff...

I just ordered some 3:1 stuff from there... was cheaper then I thought... along with 100ft of 1/8" which looks to be thicker weave than techflex and closer to murdermod stuff (but again I'll find out)...

Just got done sleeving the PCI-E x 16 power... Was a PITA and I definitely realize how much time the real Charles / Murdermod guys spend on sleeving... my connections were pretty inconsistent in comparison.

Got so tired after that first one I just put the system back together heh, I'll do the 24 pin and 8pin later.. I can't get any of my 8 pin connections out though, 6 and 24pin were easy to remove with the tool, so far every pin on the 8pin end was near impossible to pull.

Also which sleeving did you get from mcmaster exactly, I looked around and it was hard to pick... they have so many options

Ah... does not expand is kinda eh... means your wires have to be smaller than 1/8"

But could be nice... the murdermod stuff is like techflex just a thicker weave, it isn't soft...

Lesson learned to search around though, I'm sure I'll stock up enough sleeving and heatshrink to do a few computers by the time I'm done buying stuff :)

What I started with... just the PCI-E power, but it still works so that's a plus :)

Black TRUE? purty.

No the stuff I got has an inside diameter of 1/8 so it fits perfectly...

For single wires, but if you wanna do slightly larger bundles (like for Fan's or other pieces) you can't do it really...

I like the murdermod stuff, already got a bunch of it so I'll make use of it ;) we'll see how this 100ft of 1/8" from this other guy is.

Quick question for anyone who has sleeved a hx850... is it possible to remove the giant circle filters on the pci express cables and if so does anyone have a guide?
