Sleep after heavy load?

Is it safe to put the computer to sleep right after running a demanding game/application?

For example after playing a demanding game my 290x runs it's fans on high rpm for a few minutes. Can I put the computer to sleep right after quitting the game, or I have to wait, until temps and fan speeds drop to idle levels?
 
Wont make much of a difference ... it will cool on its own, your not running anywhere near max spec of the temps, and the components are designed to withstand it
