Slave drive problem, suddenly not accessible

I have a WD 80gb primary drive C: and a slave 80gb hdd F: with partition G: from my old Compaq Presario. The partition had some kind of recovery files I believe. I just kept it in my PC that I built last year and used the rest of the space for storage.
All of a sudden yesterday after I had installed another 7800gt for SLI and attempted to update certain things like chipset drivers (trying to make Company of Heroes work). While I was experimenting with anything I could upgrade, I noticed upon restarting one time that the two partitions disappeared in My Computer. They then appeared again on another restart but the hdd's names looked different. The Compaq partition was now F: and the other was now G:. So I attempted to access G: to see what was going on, and it said that G: is not accessible and that "The file or directory is corrupted and unreadable". Disk management says its healthy and I can still access the partition just fine (6gb) and add/remove files in it but I can't access the other 68gb from the other partition. The BIOS also appears to recognize this Hdd.
Does this sound like a bad hdd? I did a virus scan and also disconnected the PSU power cable and tried a restart after that. Does it matter that I had accidentally installed nForce4 IDE drivers and switched it back to the original drivers after.

My system:
Asus A8N-SLI Premium
AMD 3700+ SD
2gb OCZ ram
