Slave drive loss data after reformat. :(

After reformatting my main drive, the slave drive will loss data in between the last and recent reformats. After restarting (following installing a fresh copy of XP), WinXP would check that drive for inconsistency and all the files that were there before the reformat are gone! Is the drive bad? :eek:
