Skyrim Patch 1.3

Does this patch fix the keys in the inventory menus? I went to 1.2 but I didn't know what button was "drop" or "store" so I had to use my 360 controller whenever I wanted to store items or give items to my follower. The screen never updated with the new key. It would say "R" to craft something but that didn't work so I just mashed keys until I found out that it was now "D". That didn't work for storing items; I never found the key so I'd use the 360 controller.

don't they test their patches?

It's just the rat shit engine again. Look at this boring scene:

*snip*

100% GPU usage, 87°C at 70% fan speed (GTX 580).

Actually, with all of the particle effects going on, that is a very graphically intense scene.

Anyone else getting a metric shit ton of texture and LOD pop-in now? Even on the same settings as the 1.1 patch?

It bothers me that after 3 patches (and 1 month) we've yet to see a patch that address the shit ton of quest bugs in this game. I've encountered probably 5 or 6 quest myself where either you can repeat them or that the game does not remove the quest item and/or reward you when the NPC says "here's your reward". Plus I've encountered some where some dialog is broke (bards guild quest).

it's not graphically intense at all, those are static particles that are nearly free on dx9 with todays hardware. what's happening is all of you maxing ambient occlusion for a game that was never built to use it, turn the ssao down to quality or performance and watch your gpu usage plummet, the load really has nothing to do with any standard feature of this engine.

pinning a gtx580 with this 10 years old engine, you must be joking.

Bethesda has discussed this already...

"To be safe, we are prioritizing code side fixes right now over data fixes. Quest and balance issues are usually data, and those will start rolling in a large way with the January updates"

i don't have ssao on or anything, and i get similar slowdowns when there are too many particles on the screen as well.

well got to be some sort of driver bug or something, I could pin my rates to 60fps on those exact same scenes, simply by changing ssao from "high quality" to "quality", on just a single 560ti.

I've had to revert back to 1.1 once again. Same issue with messing up a couple of important buttons on the 360 controller. Normally in the menus you use 'A' to confirm or select choices, this seems to be reversed. I could live with this, but unfortunately it doesn't end there. In the pause menu, 'A' doesn't work at all, nor does any button. Which means if you try to quit, for instance, you'll need to grab your keyboard to hit 'enter'. Other strange quirks when the map is up.

Oh well. 1.1 has been good to me, so I won't complain too much. It would be nice to get an update that doesn't cause problems. Call me a dreamer.
