I wanted to start a thread for everyone to post their overclocking results and how they achieved it. I got my 7820x / Gigabyte Gaming 7 up and running last night and is currently under my custom water loop but haven't messed around with it yet.

Could you please post your:
  • Processor and overclock
  • Motherboard (with bios version)
  • RAM speed
  • Bios settings (voltages etc)
  • Cooling type and temp results.
This will give everyone a good starting point and what to expect when overclocking these chips.

Thanks!

Guys, I ended up with 4.7ghz so far on my 7820x

F6 bios on my Gigabyte Gaming 7

1.24v CPU Vcore
3.0ghz Mesh @ 1.2V

Topping out at 80degC with Prime95 FFT.

  • 7820x at 4.6Ghz on 8 core loads, 4.7Ghz on 4 core, and 4.8Ghz on 2 core (Turbo 3.0)
  • Gigabyte Gaming 9 F6A BIOS
  • DDR4-3200 14CL 1.35V (G.Skill 32GB quad kit)
  • 1.20V CPU core effective peak (core voltage set to "Normal" with a -0.025V offset). TJMax +10. All other settings left to "Auto" except Turbo multipliers. TDP left to "Auto" HWInfo reports as being set to 3000W by the BIOS (Lol!)
  • 3.0Ghz Mesh at default "Auto" voltage
  • Corsair h100i v2 AIO. Not delidded. 90C peak core temp under Prime95 small FFT after 15mins. 70-80C max on other benchmarks, 1 hour stress (Cinebench, Realbench, ADIDA, etc). 60C gaming for multiple hours.
  • Max 260W CPU package power under Prime95 v28.5 AVX512 small FFT. 230W under Prime95 v26.6 and Cinebench.
  • VRMs max at 60C under Prime95 small FFT, 1 hour stress, or muti-hour gaming.
Cinebench score 2009. Timespy w/1080Ti score 10040.

Very happy with these results.
