Skipping through a avi/mpg causes audio and video to un-sync

If I jump into the middle of the video for a few seconds the audio and video aren't in sync. The oinly codec I have is xvid.

Has anyone heard of anything like this?

Is this only with one video? If it happens with all videos, it'd be best to uninstall the current codec, and make sure you download the most up-to-date version.

Also, double check which codec the video is encoded with, it could be another codec.
