Hey, just set up a RAID0 on my Gigabyte GA770-DS3 mobo (plugged into SATA0 and SATA1) and everything is great. However, I just put in another SATA HDD into SATA2 and the new HDD was set up automatically as a RAID1 and was flashing 'critical' on boot. It still seemed to work fine in XP however. But, I didn't feel comfortable so I just disabled it and am wondering what to do...

Is this ok, or should I have it on another RAID controller? I think (not sure) there is only 1 on this MOBO. Thanks :)

That drive will slow your raid0 set to the speed of that one raid1 drive if it's mirroring the raid0 stripe set. Go into the utility on boot and set it as a single drive. I'm not sure what the setting is, but try to isolate that one drive so it does not interfere with the stripe set.

K. I tried to see what other options there were. RAID0, 1, 10, Raid Ready, and JBOD. Raid Ready seemed like the only one worth trying. Shows up as functional and appears to work fine in XP.
