single rad question..

if i get a black ice extreme rad, and mount it at the top of my lian li pc-60b+ case, will I be able to use the top 2 5.25" drives? i was going to make room for a dual rad at the top, but that would mean loosing two drive spaces.. i'm already needing space for a dvd-ram drive, dvd-rom drive, and aquabay.

and out of curiousity, will a single rad work well enough to cool my cpu and gpu with 3/8" tubing? i am still deciding between w/c and air, so i need to know whether a single rad setup will be that much better than air..

what are you cooling? what blocks do you plan on using? pump? etc. This will all affect the temps and how well things work.

also if you worried about space, why not just use a T-line? or another kind of reservoir?

i was going to use swifttech MCW6002-64 for cpu, Black Ice Xtreme radiator, Liang D5 pump, wasn't sure about GPU waterblock.. probably DangerDen or SwiftTech.

a single raditor should be fine the BIX's are great radi. since your going swiftech, go w/ the same gpu wb as well. They're simply the best performing wb's for the buck imho

even though u didn't ask. I suggest you run your system like so. pump -> rad ->cpu->rad->res->pump

good luck and keep us posted on what u end up doing

btw do some before OC's and temps and after so you will have a comparison/something to go by.

I can confirm that a single 120mm fan will fit between the power supply and a couple of optical drives on the top of a PC-6x chassis. If you'd like me to do some measuring on mine I'd be happy to

Hu? Did I miss something? He's asking about a single radiator, your set-up either has him using two radiators of unknown configuration or (somehow) running the water through the same radiator twice.

Even if you're recommending two radiators, what's the point of cooling the water before it feeds into the reservoir on it's way back to the pump? Are you trying to cool the pump too?

*edit* I'm guessing the second radiator should actually be either a northbridge or a GPU waterblock.

There is a project on Bit-Tech/WizD, and the modder has a BIX and a Panaflo L1 (well, it's an aluminum one, which might have lower CFM than the plastic L1's). With his custom made blocks, 3/8" ID tubing spread over 1/2" ID barbs, dual AMD MP 2400's and 9800XT, his temps are excellent.
