I'm looking for a SINGLE rheostat/resister/fan speed controller for this fan: It's a Delta AFB1212GHE-CF00 120mm Case Fan; it is over 30 watts so most of the little fan controllers won't be able to handle it; label says 12 volts, 3.24 amps = .about 40 watts?
I don't want a whole fan bus that fills a drive bay; just one controller that I can drill a hole in the front of the case and put a knob on it and wire it directly into the power supply & fan path. The only 50 ohm one I see on ebay is over 2 inches in diameter and an inch and a half thick. Does anyone know of a smaller one? I'm mechanically skilled, but don't know much about electrical parts. Why am I using this fan? I got two for free, and read that at lower speeds, they're really not that noisy; yet if I do need more cooling, they can certainly provide it.

Ah,the mighty GHE with 220CFM IIRC.I'm running in the same problem with you, only my Delta is the slower model.
