Single eyefinity card recommendation

Hey guys,

I am looking for a single eyefinity card to run a set of Eizo R22 (specs can be found at http://www.radiforce.com/en/products/col-r22.html)

The screen resolution for each of these monitors is 1600x1200. Eyefinity never crossed my mind when I was building my computer due to budget constraints, but the company I was interning at was dumping these. Is this project viable on a $250-300 budget for a video card? Will I see the performance I want?

I mostly use this computer for TF2 and Solidworks. If I ever get bored of TF2, which is unlikely since I have been playing since the times of TFC, I might try something different.

4 GB RAM
OCZ Powerstream 520W (probably need to upgrade)
7800GT (bottleneck? )

1. Get a better PSU (Antec, Corsair, and Seasonic are my favorites)
2. Get the best ATi card you can afford (I think only ATi supports 3 monitors from one card a this time)

Also if you can, wait a few weeks because I think new ATi cards are coming. (69xx series)

My 6850 box says it can support 6 monitors, but after 3 or so you need some special display port hub.

Newegg has a combo deal right now with an XFX 650 and n XFX 5850 for 285 with 60 in rebates. It was $10 cheaper when I ordered yesterday. Add a $30 active display port and you should be set.

3x 1600x1200 is slightly less pixels than 3x 1920x1080 which is the monitor setup I have and I ran it on a single 5870 for a while.

In terms of performance, I'd get a 5870 or a 6870 if you need a card NOW. If not, I would wait for the 6900's to come out... although that may stretch your budget. All games are playable on a single 5870 with that many pixels. The first thing you have to turn off is AA, then you go down the list and turn stuff like ambient occlusion off, etc. Either way, my experience with a 5870 was that pretty much all games were playable (smooth) with not a lot of image quality impact.

If you only want a single card get the 5870. I'm runnin three NEC EA231WMi monitors (1920x1080) off of mine. I can run everything at max settings except for maxed out AA. Depending on the game I can use 2-4x AA.

I highly suggest waiting for the 69xx series too.

For that budget, probably the best you can do is a 6870+a better PSU.
