Single BIP Fan Speed - Faster make much diff?

currently i'm running a kinda slow antec clear 120 .. think it's 1200 rpms .. and something like 40cfms

would pushing 1600rpms make much diff?

120x38 be much better?

If you face the running fan (have air blowing towards you) you'll realize that there's a huge dead spot where the motor is suspended in the middle. The further you get back from the fan, the smaller the dead spot becomes. A shroud that gives you an extra inch or so prevents that dead spot from reducing air flow to the center of the radiator. I've noticed that increasing fan speed on my BIX.1 radiator didn't do anything but put out more noise...

BIPs dont really need shrouds as there is almost a 1/4in gap between the mounting bracket and the rads fins

yea i noticed that .. is 1/4 inch enough .. also .. any studies on how fast the fans need to be for a bip ...

is 1350rpms yate loons too little..

j-mag here on the forum has a couple cases of black 1350rpm yate loons that are brand new from the factory .. he's sending me 3 for 19 shipped DHL w/ tracking .. i figure that's better than xoxide..+ i get another heat

oh .. almost forgot to ask .. do the yate loons like to blow towards the earth or away from it .. gravity matter? either way quiter than the other?

You ideally want your fans to suck air through the radiator, but it's not crucial to do so. Directional facing of the fan with respect to the ground should not have any impact.

The best fan for any radiator is generally the fasting spinning one you can find. My advice? Those nifty 120x120x72mm Delta screamers

I have a bip3/yateloon setup mounted on the top of my case and I had them sucking air through the rad out the top of the case. I changed it to where it sucked air through the rad into the case and saw a big improvment in temps.

thanks for the info.. that situation has some other things going on besides push vs. pull though .. like air temps.

I believe it doesnt really matter much push/pull with black ice rads, but the pa120 series rads preffer push from what people the use them say.
