Will a single 12v DD-D5 be enough for:
TDX
Thermochill PA120.3
x2 NV-78
T-Line

The pump will have to pump water up ~1' before reaching the Radiator.

no problem at all.

i hope that you're going for the triple rad for super silence though, given your other component selections.........

A triple rad might not necessarily be a bad idea with a CPU and 2 GPUs.

By the way...I am looking forward to seeing what you can do with this setup :)

yup, the Thermochill 120.3 is a triple rad. looks like im going with a single DD-D5 pump.

Erasmus354, your name seems very familiar. Did I sell you my Coolermaster ATC-210 Case a while back? oh yea, i noticed (on your sig) that you have a Seasonic S12 500w. Did you encounter any problems with it (stable voltages, 5v fluctuations, etc)?. Also, most importantly, how quiet is it,?

a killer rad might not be a bad idea with a pair of flow killing NV78s and a CPU block that needs really high flow to cool well?

its just an estimate of course, but i don't think that his rad would be the limiting factor if he was to use a 120.2.

i use 4x120 to deal with 226 watt pelt, say 100 watts from the CPU and another 60 from the GPU. keeps my GPU at 36-37C playing a game or 39 running a GPU stress test like RTHDRIBL.

he's talking about using 3x120 to deal with 100 watts from the CPU, and about 60 watts from each GPU. i imagine that he'll keep some nice, cool, coolant temps........but i'm thinking that he'll hit walls elsewhere.

it's overkill unless you are going for some kind of super-quiet opperation.

No you didn't sell me a Coolermaster case. As for the Seasonic PSU, I love it (almost). It is dead silent and voltage has been rock solid, at least as far as I can tell from MBM. I am getting a Multimeter in a week or so, I can test the voltage better from there. My only gripe with the PSU is that the ATX cable is just barely long enough for the P180, which makes cable management a pain.

OH GOD YES. that would be the goal....... :D
okay then.

in that case, aren't you worried that the D5 is going to be too loud?

with a triple rad like that, you sould be able to get away with something like 20 dba fan noise, which the D5 will overpower by a long shot, depending on what setting you have it dialed to.

a pair of DDC pumps would rock for low noise with tonnes of head pressure to keep the water moving through a restrictive loop like what you have up.

just out of curiosity, given that you don't have WC for the chipset in there, why aren't you going with maze 4 GPU blocks and ramsinks? you're going to need at least some case airflow in that area of the board anyway.........

ahhh, excellent. ill be picking up a Seasonic S12 600w soon.

well, i had the D4 back then, and it was fairly quiet, except for the annoying humming/buzzing. from what ive read (and according to DD), the D5 is quieter. plus, the D5 is adjustable (rheostat?), hopefully it wont decrease the flow too much.

ive thought about running 2 DDC, but itll be too much clutter to have 2 pumps (with
3/8" to 1/2" adapters)

from my experiance, watercooling the chipset is unnecesary. besides, im using the Asus A8N32, they include a small fan to for the heatpipes, if you using watercooling.

i know their isnt much differance (temp wise) from using a Maze4 (which i had). If i used x2 Maze4's in SLI, it would be impossible to bend 1/2" tygon from one block to ther other without using L fittings (which i dont want to use...). using the NV-78's would provide nice clean tubing.

as you can see in my old rig, water cooling the chipset is very restricting and itll make the tubing very cluttered in my new setup (the placement of the chipsets on the A8N32 dont lend themselves to nice clean tubing). the tubing comes straight out of the Maze4 GPU. It was very difficult to bend the 1/2" tygon from the chipset to the Maze4 GPU. Imagine if i had 2 Maze4's in SLI, then youll see what i mean.

My new "Super Clean Water Cooled Machine 2" will be modeled after the original. I specifically pick components that would lend themselves to neat, uncluttered tubing and an overall "clean" look, even if it means sacrificing some performance.

i really think that plywood99's method using a pair of T fittings and a pair of elbows is a really good idea for running a pair of GPU blocks like the maze 4 in parallel to avoid the tubing bend. and also improve overall coolant flow rates.

as i've commented before, if i were to do it, i would use plastic fitting for weight savings, and depending on the fittings that you choose, they can be pretty slick.

i'm not actually advocating chipset watercooling, just noting that you're going to need airflow in the neighbourhood, for the chipset, and as long as you are doing that to begin with, there is little to gain with the NV 78 as compared to the maze4.

i know the NV-78 will offer little (if any) gain over using the Maze4. i just really like the look of 1 single straight tube going from one NV-78 to the other. itll cost me twice as much as if i went dual Maze4's, but to me, itll be worth it in the end.

NV-78 = no real advantage over Maze4 (RAM does *not* require watercooling). Only serves to increase coolant temperatures. And a Maze4 barely inhibits flow, helping your CPU block do its job.

Don't worry about pump noise - the D5 is virtually silent once the system is bled. Only source of noise is from high frequency vibrations being transmitted into the chassis - this can be fixed by using some thick foam or a piece of carpet (the sticky mounting thing that comes with it is only partially effective). I can't hear mine over the hard drives idle clicking, which means it must be pretty damn quiet. And this is on full power.
