Single 120mm fan RAD question...

I was wandering how much better a watercooling setup using a single 120mm
fan radiator would perform compared to an XP-120 heatsink/fan combo.

I'm using an Antec P180 case so it's rather to mount a dual 120mm radiator
on it internally without having to hack the case.

I'm also looking at only cooling the CPU, not the video card.

I also would like to overclock. My X2 4800+ can do 2.75GHz but the vcore has
to be around 1.55v which gets my temps way up to the mid 50 C on iddle with
an XP-120 and a quiet 120mm fan.

I'm not sure about the comparison, but I have a single 120mm Rad w/c setup that cools a 4200+ X2 @ 2.5, 2 XFX 7800 GT Extreme Editions in SLI @ 472/1.3 and the NB. I have 2 120mm 14db SilenX fans in push/pull config for the single rad.
Temps
CPU - 36 idle 44 load
GPU 0 - 38 idle 47 load
GPU 1 - 39 idle 48-49 load
NB - ?

Most people in these forums will tell you to go with the dual 120mm rad. But decent cooling CAN be accomplished with a single 120mm rad. And my comp is ULTRA silent.

You can also check out the SwiftTech Radbox, which is a small unit that can be mounted to a 120mm fan hole to offset the radiator. It's possible to mount any radiator that mounts 120mm fans to this unit. On a P180, you can easily mount a 2x120mm rad outside the back of the case, and with 1/2" OD tubing, you can pass the tubing through a modified PCI cover bracket or pick up a PCI pass-through bracket from SwiftTech.

If you want to stick with the P180 and keep the radiator mounted internally with little/no modification, a single 120mm rad is really your only choice.

Thanks alot guys!

Wow, these are nice temps, what's your vcore setting?

That's cool. I just look into the radbox mount kit. Looks fairly easy. At the
moment I'm not to crazy about mounting anything outside because of my pet
cat (sooner or later he'll end up chewing the tubes, he chews anything LOL).

There's an idea I have but not sure if it would work; I'm considering cutting a
120mm hole next to the top exhaust fan of the P180.

This way I think I'll be able to mount a dual 120mm radiator inside the case (on
top).

The mobo I'm using is a DFi SLi-DR so technically right under the radiator would
be the memory RAM. There will be an upper back exhaust fan and a more or less
a middle front intake fan. MY HDDs are in the bottom front section.

What do you guys think of this approach?
