sin episodes

Its a pretty fun game. You will enjoy it if you prefer combat to storyline since Its a pretty basic run and gun shooter. If you havent played Prey yet then I would recommend that instead.

They should have incorporated more weaponry into the first episode.

I found it repetitive, as well as the story being very bland.

Definitely not worth the retail price of $20.

You can pick it up on steam for 15 bucks as of now. IMHO I think its worth it for that price.
But yeah, 20 is a little high for it even though its only 5 dollars more.

Right now you can get Quake 4 for 20 bucks which I am enjoying alot more then Sin.

really.
well here is what i think. and my word is the lords....sooo

quake 4 blows huge donkey cock. Same tired old game play. just couldn't get into. Didn't beat it. and don't care to beat it.....

sin so far. SO FAR is great. I like blowing away people with the shot gun. or sniping with the pistol and blow apart peoples heads. And i like the "bland" story. easy to follow for a stoner like me. U need to find some guy. AND KICK HIS ASS. I can't wait to find that guy. BUt i have i have epsoide one will end before i get to kill him. I'm gonna go find out.

ooo and watching people scream and run around on fire is great

How is Quake 4 the same tired old gameplay when you compare it to Sin which...anyway
glad you like it ;)

Its no HL2, thats for sure. But its still a fun action shooter, I thought it was well worth $17.95

I am seriously thinking about picking this up. More for the first game that is included as I never got around to playing that since I was so sucked in by HL1. Quick question from the pre-vert in me: Is Sin 1 complete? As in is the "hidden secret bathtub" is still intact? Not really a deciding factor in any way, shape or means but it would be interesting to see if the balls were present to re-release it with that still there.

this game was alot of fun, theres alot of "big" suprises in there, and the ending fight was also really good, although pretty generic, think timecop boss fights.

Yeah that's what i'll be doing for Ep. 2, picking it up cheap at retail, if it were $15 to start on steam i'd think about it but at 17-20, fuck it.

omfg
what a great game.....I loved every second of it. I'm gonan go play it again. I love shooting the guys with the jet packs..and the guys with the mini guns...and the other guys....and omg i love it all. it needed more guns.......but i guess we will have to wait

its even better the second time aroudn when does the next chapter come out?!

Sin was alright...nothing spectacular...not bad either. I hardly see how a thread about Sin turned into a bash quake 4 thread....but coming from ron it makes a little more sense. All he does is bash quake and promote HL or UT anything.

Sin was the most boring FPS for me. Wannabe watered down HL2

If you are going to "rip off" HL2, do it right (please note it's in quotes)

How is Sin a ripoff of HL2? Oh yea they use the source engine, so it looks similar. What a bunch of ass holes, to COMPLETELY RIP OFF HL2, in every possible way and make a watered down HL2 and call it Sin...

I mean all those zombies in Sin, all teh combine in sin, the ant lions in sin; they even had the citadel!! They ripped off every charactor in HL2! I thought it was fishy when Alyx was helping me fight Alexis sinclair! I even got a crowbar!!

Oh wait, none of that was in Sin. the only similarities were steam and source. Try to come up with a better argument for why you dont liek a game next time.

Maybe he was comparing the experience of both Half life 2, and Sin:Episodes after playing them.If that is the case, then through that perspective Sin:Episodes is in fact a watered down version of Half life 2 because well...HL2 pwns ;)

No different from HL:1 vs original SiN

only differences were you are outside alot in SiN and you could steal peoples money out of the bank.

Uh..it uses the same textures, boxes, water that were HL2. It's no more than a glorified MOD than an original game.

The special effects weren't even done well. It was a halfassed rushed game that pretty much didn't do or feel in ANYWAY different from HL2. Art direction was LAZY and uninspiring making it a piece of trash

Check out Dark Messiah and see a passion for making an experience new with the source engine. Hell even Counter Strike or Day of Defeat. Sin was the laziest

Also like to add you apparently dont' understand what "" is when around a word
"ripoff" meaning it's not exactly HL2

ut is god and quake sucks? what ? :)

I think sin is better then half life becuase it was non stop action. Thats my kinda game. It did need a few more guns. Maybe a shock rifle :)

comparing Quake 4 to HL2 is like comparing apples to oranges, different engines, different gameplay, and a different audience. No CS junkys to peddle to.

I purchased both at retail price and both are worth having. To make an ultimate game they need to import Quake 4 weapons into HL2, my main complaint bout HL2 is that the weapons were un-inspired and weak and all-around crappy, from sound fx and graphics to effect and performance. I want to wield a lightning gun, nail gun, double barrel shotgun (that isnt worthless), and a decent rocket launcher that isnt crazy powered but medium powered so I can have MORE rockets to work with and not save em for bosses or hard encounters. And last but not least, GIVE ME GOD DAMN AMMO, in HL2 it was hard to get any ammo other than vanilla bullets, and even when you came upon it, you couldnt hold enough to keep you going unless your enemies wielded the same weapons so you could re-stock. I was pissed off at having all this scenery and destructables and no ammo to waste on them.

I thought the price tag was a tiny bit too high ($20) for the amount of conent on release, it doesn't quite seem like it at first, but if every epsiode costs that much and provides that much gameplay then overall it's going to be in the region of $60

But it was a good sigleplayer, some neat new ideas in it, and it's just plain cool to be playing Sin again after all this time. Being able to shoot the jetpack guys in the jetpack and have them uncontrollably fly all over the place like a baloon you've blown up and let go of was downright hilarious :D

That said when it was released there was a fair few bugs with the difficulty system, which was irriating, they're all fixed now which should overall raise first impressions.

The dynamic difficulty was the fun part for me. It was cool to see the enemies react to how i played. I will say that they always seemed to have shockingly good aim no matter the difficulty setting. The fight with the helicopter at the end was cool. The two battles with the giant mutants were less than stellar, but oh well. I also wasn't to crazy about the parts where your fighting the smaller mutants. It reminded me of Far Cry's monkey's too much. Overall i don't think it was worth $20, but $15 works for me.
