i got sims 2 and i rushed home to play it. i installed it and started the program. so far so good. i got to the neighborhood screen and i couldnt see ne thing. i could click on the home/family and other options on the bottom left hand part of the screen. i went to support.ea.com and looked if other people had the same problems as me. i saw a question and did everything it told me to do. all my requirements r above what it says. 512 ram, 1.8ghz, geforce fx5200. i got the new drivers. still nothing. does/did ne one else have that problem. if so what did they do so they fixed it.

thanks in advance

Hi d3stiNy. Just to let you know I have not bought the game yet after visiting EA's forums about all the bugs folks are having - it's just a buggy game till they get th 1st patch out. Some help might be in order thou. On their forums people have also said that even thou it's not in EA's minimum requirements for the game...Some people with 40x speed CD drives & slower are not able to run the game. One girl in particular had to upgrade her 40x CD drive to a 48x CD drive just to get the game to load.

All I can say is stay at EA's tech support forums and keep asking questions. Hopefully that'll force EA to patch this horribly buggy game.

P.S. I'm sure you've already done this but in case you have'nt, make sure you're not online when you load & try to play the game that way you can disable ALL optional applications & processes running in windows. Meaning no antivirus, no firewall, & definitely disable any CD/DVD drive emulation software. I'm talking Alcohol 120%, Games XCopy, Daemon Tools, etc. You don't have to uninstall those, contrary to what others are saying, you just have to disable them from running in the background in windows.

Hopefully I've helped ya. If not, keep at those EA forums till EA makes a patch.
