Hello there, I am an old school [H]ard OCP person .... well being old school I have lost touch with what the hell is going on in PCs (To give you an idea, the last OC I did was a Cele 466  ) so a simple RAM question.:

I have a Northwood P4 2.2 that I am going to be putting in this it has an 865PE chipset.

My question is: What is the best RAM to use in conjunction with it? Origninally I had the CPU paired up with some PC 2100. Would it be beneficial to use like PC 2700 or 3200 etc...

Any input would be appreciated. Thanks.

Definitely PC3200, preferably 2 sticks of the same size so you can utilize dual channel mode.

I would recommend something like this or this depending if you want 512MB or 1GB.

And something like this on the high end (has low latencies, and more likely to overclock well).

Nice shuttle, BTW ;)

Thanks! I appreciate the info. I will definately go with two 512 Mb sticks of PC 3200 then.

I want a box that may auctually play Doom III. So I am going for a gig of RAM, so I think option 2 that you pointed out would be good. ;)

Also planning on buying a GeForce 6800 .... the old ATI 9600 runs like a cirpple through snow with Doom III

This will be my first venture with a Shuttle, I am looking forward to it. hehe
