I have a 9800 pro thats factory under clocked so I have figured out and I am running dual monitors. I am wondering if A. running dual monitors will slow it down really any. B If its overclocked will it run hotter because of dual monitors. The heat doesnt bother me too much i am getting some nice cooling for it soon but its just a question.

No, the dual monitor thing won't hurt performance to any noticable or even benchmarkable level if that. The heat will not increase due to a second monitor. And again if it did you wouldn't notice.
 
Dual monitors may cause performance issues in some games like d3. The solution to this is to turn off dual monitors before playing the game(s).
 
The second monitor runs off of your RAMDAC so don't worry about heat. And yes dual monitors can hurt your performance in games (I'm pretty sure).
 
Ok the heat thing is what I was worried about most because for now I am using stock. With performance I played a little doom 3 at stock speeds with dual on and it seemed what it normally is like at stock speeds. So this was helpful.

i've never seen a difference running dual monitor versus single performance-wise on my card. almost always it automatically shuts off the secondary monitor when i load up a game. no worries nosferatu

Doom3 has some very specific issues with dual monitors. Frame rates will seem normal in some places, especially at the start of the game, but certain effects (heat haze, some types of glass, etc. will drop your FPS to slideshow level (like 1-3 FPS) when they are within your field of view.

I'm a big believer in disabling the secondary monitor in most situations.
