I'm about to buy a new computer and i need the advice of everyone on a vid card.... NVIDA or ATI simple i am either going to get a 128Mb or 256Mb so what is everyones opion as to both.

And while we are at the advice i am also undeciced between a p4 ht or an Amd 64 not FX so any advice there would be helpful

hey pegesus, I would get a A64 system (I'm a amd fanboy :D :p ;) ). If you have the money, and i mean money, get this setup

Amd Athlon 64 3200+
Nforce3 250 gb motherboard
any sound card
1 gig of ram 512 is good
and a radeon X800 pro or 9800 pro video card or you just can wait for the Geforce 6800U card.

ATi and AMD or nVidia and AMD. Both the X800XT and the 6800Ultra are great cards and will only improve with maturing drivers but the X800XT is quieter and uses less power, so if that is an issue, you have an answer. The 6800Ultra is the more capable card but until its additional design features are put to use, the point is moot. Either card is good but the X800XT also may be a bit cheaper.

For gaming, there is no question as to which processor is better though - the A64 wins hands down. A 3200+ overclocked is a great setup.
